Dear Wendy Davis,

Dear Wendy Davis,

I was pretty taken aback by your comments today in your interview with the Weekly Standard. Disturbing enough was the reiteration of Nancy Pelosi’s argument that “abortion is “sacred ground,” but I was completely floored that you claimed to know nothing about the horrific Gosnell case. Are you being willfully ignorant of this travesty, or are you so blinded by the abortion money being thrown into your possible governor’s race that you are willing to risk women’s lives instead of researching what is going on in abortion clinics across America?

But perhaps you’ve been too busy helping Planned Parenthood try to avoid clinic regulations that would make abortion safer for the women involved, and didn’t get to read any of Live Action’s extensive Gosnell coverage. Or maybe the lack of mainstream media coverage on the important issue of abortion is to blame for your ignorance. Either way, I’ve decided to help you out with this handy little list of facts from the Gosnell case:

  • Gosnell also hired a high school girl, who was responsible for administering dangerous drugs to patients (Grand Jury Report, pp. 2, 34-35).
  • Basic sanitation requirements were ignored, resulting in many sexually transmitted diseases being given to his patients (Grand Jury Report pp. 9, 48).
  • In addition to his disgusting abortion mill, Gosnell also operated an illegal prescription pain medicine mill, which is the only reason he was even investigated (Grand Jury Report, pp. 2, 19-22).
  • Gosnell performed illegal late-term abortions, after the point of viability (Grand Jury Report, pp. 3).
  • Gosnell was usually absent from the clinic during the day, which led to many patients giving birth to their children on the floor, and even in toilets, with no medical personnel to care for them (Grand Jury Report, p. 4).
  • When Gosnell was there when the women gave birth, he would cut into the infants’ necks with scissors, severing their spinal cords, to ensure “fetal demise” (Grand Jury Report, pp. 4, 99-116).
  • While he performed these murders, Gosnell would laugh and joke about the size of the infants – one time remarking that a child was “big enough to walk [him] to the bus stop” (Grand Jury Report, pg. 5).
  • Gosnell was a danger to the women who trusted their lives to him – botching many abortions, and leaving women with permanent injuries (Grand Jury Report, pp. 6, 71-72).
  • One of these women was Karnamaya Mongar, a 41-year-old refugee who had recently come to the United States from Nepal,
who was killed by Gosnell (Grand Jury Report, pp. 7-8, 117-136).
  • Gosnell’s clinic wasn’t inspected for nearly 17 years, despite numerous complaints and reports of shoddy practices, allowing him to get away with these illegal and dangerous practices (Grand Jury Report, pp. 9-13, 137-218).
  • Gosnell failed to keep his clinic clean, and to make sure that his equipment was up to date and working properly (Grand Jury Report, pp. 44-49).
  • Gosnell implemented racist procedures when it came to patient care (Grand Jury Report, pp. 61-62).
  • Gosnell defrauded patients, insurance companies, and even nonprofit organizations out of millions of dollars (Grand Jury Report, pp. 88-90).
  • Gosnell took unauthorized photographs of patient’s vaginas (Grand Jury Report, pg. 73).
  • Gosnell cut the feet off some of the children and displayed them in glass jars (Grand Jury Report, pg. 74).

Now that you know the facts of the case, perhaps you can answer the reporter’s original question:

What is the difference between those two, between legal abortion at 23 weeks and what Gosnell did? Do you see a distinction between those two [acts]?

Thanks,

Deanna

Her name is Joanne Schiebel. In 1954, she was a young unmarried college student who discovered that she was pregnant. In the 1950s, her options were limited. She could have had an abortion – but the procedure was both dangerous and illegal. She could have gotten married, but she wasn’t ready and didn’t want to interrupt her education. Joanne opted, instead, to give birth to the baby and put it up …for adoption. And so it was that in 1955, a California couple named Paul and Clara adopted a baby boy, born out-of-wedlock, that they named Steven. This adopted baby grew into a man who changed the world. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and wish him the best in the afterlife. The baby’s name is Steve Jobs.

If you are thankful for the life of Steve Jobs; if you are thankful for the contributions he has made to the world and your life then today…thank his mother Joanne Schiebel for choosing life.

Imagine for a moment how many Steve Jobs have been aborted. Perhaps the baby that God gave us to cure Cancer? Perhaps the baby that would have grown up and invented an alternate fuel method that would decrease or completely nullify our dependency on gas?

I saw this on Facebook and I was shocked, I had no idea that Steve Jobs was adopted. As the world mourns the life of this visionary, we must remember that he was only able to do what he did because HIS MOTHER CHOSE LIFE.
Everyday there are 4,000 innocent children lost in the name of “choice”. That’s 4,000 potential Steve Jobs, Mother Theresas, Presidents, Writers, Doctors, Teachers, Pastors, Missionaries, Scientists, and Visionaries.
As someone who was adopted, I can speak to the idea of potential with authority. I’m not done with my life yet, and I believe that I can continue to affect change. I will continue to fight against abortion until all of my innocent brothers and sisters have the chance to do the same.

The Summer of Stupidity

A year ago, President Obama and his Democratic cronies took trips all over the nation touting the “amazing” results of the stimulus bill. They called it “The Summer of Recovery” and were convinced that the worst of America’s economic woes were behind us.

Flash forward a year, to the present day and it is easy to see that a true recovery has NOT taken place. In fact, our economy has continued to decline since the passage of the massive stimulus bill.

First let’s look at employment- according to Speaker of the House Bohner, 1.5 Million jobs have been lost since the bill was signed into law in 2009. And unless you live under a rock, I think you probably know that unemployment rate is at 9.1%. And that alone is bad, but when you dig a little deeper you find out exactly HOW bad. According to figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics 15.8% of Americans are “underemployed,” meaning that  workers are being employed at less than full-time or regular jobs or at jobs inadequate with respect to their training or economic needs. This statistic is even more shocking to me than the total unemployment. These people might have ” a job” but they are not good jobs that allow them to reach their full potential or pay their bills.

According to FOX Business News, new unemployment filings have been above 400,000 (the number economist equate with a “healthy” ecnomy) for 10 straight weeks. Economists estimate that 125,000 jobs need to be added to the economy each month just in order to keep up with the population, and at least 250,000 jobs a month in order to start making a dent in the 9.1% unemplyoment rate… but in May we only added 54,000 jobs. Last year we added about 72,500 jobs a month. At that rate it would take nearly 8 years to make up all the jobs lost since the recession began.

Also, looking at the unemployed workers further reveals problems in the status quo. 6.2 Million workers have been unemployed for at least 6 months. And 1 in 3 of all unemployed Americans have been unemployed for over a year. This of course leads to other problems.

The housing market is still gasping for air, with an estimated 25% of mortgages currently underwater. New home sales are slightly up, at 560,000 but economists say that at least 1.2 Million are needed in order to consider the housing market as healthy.

One reason for some of the turmoil is likely to be the confusion and uncertainty regarding Obama Care. According to Representative Fred Upton of Michigan, the administration has published 3,500 pages of regulations related to the health care bill this year alone. With all the new regulations coming up, as well as many unanswered questions regarding the taxes and mandates in the bill- is it any wonder that businesses are reluctant to hire more workers or invest in new ventures?

Speaking of fear, the fastest rise in the price of consumer goods since 2006 happened this May, which make it unsurprising that a recent Gallup poll revealed that nearly half of all Americans think that the country is headed towards another recession. Add to this the fact that the price to feed a family of four has risen 5% since the “Summer of Recovery” and it comes as no surprise that normal, everyday people (or as Obama calls them- bumps in the road) are frightened.

What all of these statistics and figures prove is that the Obama administration is completely out of touch with reality, and that they bamboozled the voters of America into supporting a $1,160,000,000,000 (including interest) waste of time, effort, and especially of our hard earned tax dollars. How about we make them pay in 2012?

ARIZONA

I am SICK of links and articles talking about how politics is why the shooting in AZ happened.

THIS GUY WAS MENTALLY ILL!

Instead of coming together and trying to prevent this type of thing from happening again; instead of using it as a catharisis for the divisions in our country; instead of reflecting on the importance of family and friends; instead of all the many things we can learn from this tragedy- so many of yall are making the  divisions our country faces even worse by politicizing this and making it about something other than INNOCENT people being gunned down by a mentally ill nut bag.

Just shut up already!

This isn’t about any of us- Conservatives, Liberals, Republicans or Democrats, this is about a 9 yr old little girl, men in the prime of their life, innocent grandparents, and a woman fighting for her life in a hospital bed.

This is about them:

nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green

Dorothy Morris

Judge John Roll

Phyllis Schneck

Dorwin Stoddard

Congresswoman Giffords

Vote 2010

Two years ago I wrote the following

So I just wanted to remind everyone that the fight for American values is not over, rather it has just begun. We can not give up hope, we must stand together stronger than ever. All that is required for evil to prosper is for good men (and women) to do nothing. So do something! Keep your voice, shares your values, stand up for what is right, no matter how hard it gets.

And you guys did NOT disappoint! Two years later and the Tea Party has blossomed, launching a new generation of conservatives into the public spotlight; Republicans will take over the House by midnight, and might take over the Senate as well! Gubernatorial races are running strong red and things are looking bright indeed for the future of our nation!

But it still isn’t over- YOU MUST GO VOTE!

Hundreds of thousands of brave men and women have died so that you could cast your ballot. So go vote, and PLEASE- vote CONSERVATIVE!!!!

David Melville

I spoke with David Melville, who is running against incumbent John Fleming for Congress, tonight at the mayoral forum.

I asked him a few questions and a few of them I felt deserved to be shared.

When asked about Nancy Pelosi and whether or not he would vote for her as speaker of the house if elected, Melville would not rule out voting for her. All I could get him to commit to was voting for the most “moderate” of the choices. Somehow I don’t think Mrs. Pelosi could ever be described as “moderate.”

I also asked him about the bailouts, and while he said he didn’t agree with bailing out major corporations, he had no problem with the government lending companies money- as long as they pay it back. This seems kind of like a double answer- even if it is a loan, isn’t it still a bailout? GM was bailed out- and they paid it back. It is still unjustified government interference in the capitalistic market place.

And finally, I asked him about ObamaCare- and he said he liked the bill “AS IS” and would vote to fully fund it. He emphasized to me that his opponent wanted to repeal the whole thing, which coincidentally is exactly what I want to happen.

So while I apprecitate his willingness to answer my questions, he has only reinforced my belief that Congressman Fleming is doing a great job and will 100% get my vote in the November 2nd Election.

On a side note, early voting is now going on downtown at the Registrar of Voters. If there is the possibility that you might miss the Nov. 2nd election, please go vote now- the future of our nation, state, and city hang in the balance.

Mauling Memorial Day

In 2008 I had the honor of being present at the Memorial Day service at Arlington National Cemetary, and it was one of the most heart wrenching experiences I have ever had. Surrounded by families of the fallen, watching President Bush lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as TAPS played… it still brings tears to my eyes.

This year will be different- our President will not be at Arlington to honor the fallen men and women who gave their “last full measure of devotion” to their country. He will not look into the eyes of the families and friends of those who died to protect our country, to preserve our freedom. He will not listen to TAPS, or lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. No, Obama has decided to skip Memorial Day in order to go home to Chicago.

This is unacceptable, this is a slap in the face to the brave men and women who day after day put their lives on the line for you, for me, AND for him. And instead of honoring them properly, he is leaving D.C. to go visit friends from the dirty Chicago political machine.

The Gold Star families, who have lost their sons and daughters overseas deserve better, they deserve a President who appreciates the sacrifice that their precious children made on his behalf. They deserve to be looked in the eyes and told how much they mean to the people of this great nation.

But Obama doesn’t honor these men and women- these sons and daughters, moms and dads, brothers and sisters, these loved ones that laid down their lives. Instead of honoring them, he goes around APOLOGIZING for them. Instead of paying homage to these amazing men and women, he makes their sacrifices and courage out to be “arrogance” and “empire building.”

As a grand-daughter of a Marine that barely survived the battle of the Chosin Reservoir, and as a sister of an Airman fighting in the Middle East right now, it’s the final straw. I never liked him, but now I officially DESPISE him.

His blatant disrespect for our Armed Forces and the valiant men and women who DIE every day so that you and I can be free, takes away any respect due to him as President. I will never again honor him with that title, he doesn’t deserve it, he is a traitor to our brave men and women. From now on he will be Mr. Obama to me.

And Mr. Obama- I can’t wait till 2012 when I can vote for someone who actually DESERVES the title of the President of The United States!
